Submission and discussion agreement
Keep your rights. Choose a license. Give collaborators clear permission to contribute.
Ownership and authority
Peerpedia is a public research publishing service operated by Chenqi Meng. This agreement governs contributions to the service. You retain the copyright and other rights you hold. Publishing here or accepting a PR does not transfer a contributor's copyright to Peerpedia or the corresponding author. Copyright protection depends on applicable law; this agreement does not create copyright in otherwise unprotected material.
You must have authority to submit the material and grant the permissions below. Obtain necessary permissions from coauthors, employers, publishers, and other rights holders. Identify and respect separately credited third-party material. You cannot grant rights you do not hold. Check relevant journal and funder requirements before publishing. Do not submit confidential information, personal data without a lawful basis, or infringing material.
Hosting and distribution permission
For each paper, note, and revision you publish or submit, you grant Peerpedia a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual and irrevocable license, to the extent you have authority to do so, to store, reproduce, preserve, back up, display, and distribute that material through the service. This includes providing public Markdown downloads, search, version comparisons, API access, and conversions needed for readable, accessible, and machine-readable formats. Users may access, read, and download it through these services.
The Peerpedia non-exclusive license 1.0 consists of this hosting and distribution permission and the collaboration permission below. It does not otherwise grant the public a general license to republish or distribute adaptations outside Peerpedia. Statutory exceptions and permissions obtained from rights holders remain available. Peerpedia does not claim exclusive publication rights.
Permission for public collaboration
In addition to the selected content license, you permit Peerpedia users to copy and modify the submitted material as needed to prepare revisions, including in local tools, and submit those revisions as public PR snapshots on Peerpedia. Peerpedia may display, compare, preserve, and distribute these snapshots, including superseded, rejected, and withdrawn proposals. The corresponding author may incorporate authorized contributions into the paper's accepted version. This additional permission applies even when the selected content license restricts distribution of adaptations. It is limited to collaboration through Peerpedia and does not grant a general right to distribute adaptations elsewhere.
By submitting a PR, you grant these hosting and collaboration permissions for your contribution and offer your contribution under the paper's fixed content license. You must have the rights needed to do so. A PR author may not replace the paper's license. Acceptance controls the official version on Peerpedia; it does not confer authorship, transfer copyright, or imply that every contributor endorses every later revision. Preserve appropriate attribution and contribution history. Identify proposals as proposals rather than accepted work.
Your chosen content license
For a new paper, the submitting corresponding author explicitly chooses CC BY 4.0, CC BY-SA 4.0, CC BY-NC-SA 4.0, CC BY-NC-ND 4.0, CC0 1.0, or the Peerpedia non-exclusive license 1.0. The linked license text controls the scope of public reuse. Creative Commons licenses have different attribution, commercial-use, and adaptation conditions. CC0 dedicates rights to the public domain as far as legally possible and supplies fallback permissions; it does not require attribution as a license condition. Scholarly citation is still expected.
The choice is fixed for the paper and its subsequent contributions in this release. The on-platform collaboration permission above is additional to it. Licenses already granted cannot simply be recalled by deleting an account or withdrawing a paper. A future licensing change would require a separate rights review, including permission for reused contributions. Third-party exceptions must be clearly marked; do not include material whose restrictions prevent the hosting or collaboration authorized here.
Submission and permanent history
Each publication or PR submission creates a public snapshot. Confirm the content, permissions, and license before submitting. Peerpedia records the submitting account, date, agreement version, license, and content hash for new snapshots. A hash helps detect changes; it is not proof of authorship, ownership, correctness, or priority. Earlier material may have a later licensing declaration, which is recorded separately without changing its original snapshot or hash.
Corrections normally require a new version. Withdrawal normally leaves the historical text and a record of the withdrawal available. Peerpedia may restrict access to disputed or unlawful material, private information, or material that violates these terms. Preservation is a service objective, not a guarantee of perpetual availability. Contact the operator through the private rights-request form for copyright, withdrawal, or privacy concerns.
Comments, reviews, and ratings
You retain rights you hold in comments and reviews. You grant Peerpedia non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to display, preserve, back up, and distribute them and their revision history through its website and read-only API. No general Creative Commons license is assigned to comments or reviews. Incorporating substantial protected comment text into a paper requires separate permission unless an existing license or legal exception allows it. Discussion participation alone is not a PR contribution grant. Ratings and votes must be made by humans; AI and CLI access to feedback remains read-only.
AI assistance and research responsibility
You are responsible for submissions made through your account or authorized tools. Review AI-assisted work, check claims and references, and use available AI-assistance disclosure fields accurately. An AI tool is not a substitute for permission from a rights holder. The content license grants only rights that exist and that the grantor can grant. Public access does not by itself grant unrestricted reuse or AI-training rights. Those uses depend on the applicable license, other permissions, and law.
Moderation and rights requests
Do not plagiarize, misrepresent authorship, impersonate others, harass participants, expose private information, or abuse the service. Peerpedia may restrict content or accounts to address violations and legal obligations. Acceptance of a PR and community ratings are not certification, formal peer review, or a warranty of accuracy. Peerpedia does not undertake to enforce contributors' copyright on their behalf.
Use the private rights-request form to describe affected material, your authority or connection to it, supporting evidence, and the action requested. Requests are visible to authorized operators, not published as comments. The operator may request clarification, restrict access while reviewing a dispute, and contact affected contributors when appropriate. Submit accurate requests and only the personal information needed to handle them.
Agreement versions and privacy
Acceptance is recorded for this specific version. A new agreement requires fresh acceptance before further contributions; it does not silently replace past grants or relicense earlier work. CLI and AI tools cannot accept the agreement through the API. The account holder must accept on the website first. Account and request data are handled as described in Peerpedia's privacy policy.
